Patience Vs. Urgency

I am often told "You are too impatient. You need to wait to get everything you want." Perhaps this is true but I am brought back to the fact that all the great people in any field or did anything really noteworthy have had a sense of urgency about them too. I think it is actually a combination of the two that is actually the most productive. I don't like wait on things to fix themselves that is for sure. To just sit back and hope things will get better will not work. On the other side though, I certainly know you can't make people be something they are not or make people do things they don't want too. The best you can hope for is to put people in a position to want to do well on their own. Patience is not a quality I claim to have conquered but then again why wait around when you know what you want? I will try to be more patient with my students but let's just remember we have to be in this thing together for us all to get what we want.

"Good things come to those who wait, but the best things come to those who go out and get what they want."

Good things do come to those who wait, but the word "wait" is an active word. We must be about doing what it takes to get what we want. Things are just not handed to us without the effort of hard work. Those who are successful will tell you success did not fall on their lap, they had to work hard to get where they are. So, work hard band members. Mr. Brady wants to take you to great places, but you must do your part!! You have already proven you all have what it takes, just keep up the good work. When you reap the joys of success you will look back and see this was all worth it!!

Chef Ramesey said last night...I can change the menu, I can change the look but what I can't give them is what is deep inside...passion and heart! The want to be sucessful....
This is the same with the band. Guys just listen and find the passion and heart of why you are in band. Not only will this make you better but it will transfer into Emotion with your show for next year. Play with Passion! Learn to say "Yes Chef"!!!
