Changing What Does Not Work!

What we are doing is obviously not working. We need to change how we do things or we will just continue to get the same results. The results we are getting are pretty mediocre at best. The thing that makes me so sad is that we could be so much more. Any and all suggestions are welcome. You can even post anonymously! If you read this blog you know how much this all means to me and I bet it means a lot to you too.

I notice that the people who are the second year people are out there teaching the rookies the wrong way to march and play. I went out there and saw some second year people but I'm not going to name anyone. But they are teaching them the wrong stuff. This is happening before practice between 3:15 to 3:50. I think the section leader should be out there teaching their rookies and second year people or people that are in middle school, how to march and what we went over during band class before practice.

You said something one days about because we are in school, some people won't actually show any passion, and i think that's true. Because some people are just out there, not really feeling the music. I always feel really bad when some of the band wants it and others dont, like today when we were playing the ballad, we just stopped, because people weren't playing it right. And i understand when you say that you are tired of teaching us effort. If people are in this band then they should WANT it.

Well if you ask me theres more then a little bit of people that dont care. If you dont care why do it?? Theres people that care and that want to be better, but the people that dont are putting the others behind. Also theres people that dont wanna listen to the older members. You teach us the way to play in in class,we should tell the others right and they should play it that way, but for some reason they dont listen. They think they know what there doing and their wrong. Some people dont see that NOT making state is a reality. It happened to Chapin that one year,it could happen to us. People think what we did last year with getting better late is whats gonna happen. The show is way to hard musically and drill wise to catch up. 3A aint no joke and I think people dont see that. Mr. Brady your a good guy and one I look up too,you have done all you can do its time for the band to step it up or we wont succeed,

Interesting to see some people feel like it is someboby elses fault things are not getting accomplished. So some of you feel to lose people will make us better? Nothing could be farther from the truth. Why not work to help them to get better and maybe they would care more about what they were doing.

I agree with comment 4. I think its about time to start getting rid of some of these people who don't care. This is my third year in marching band and I want to know what it feels to win State because next year I may never get that chance. I know a lot of Juniors and Seniors want that feeling to win state but you have some 10th grade and 9th, etc holding us back. Mr. Brady is the only person I look up to in the school. It's about time we start working as one not individuals but as a family. But you have some people with hard heads and they don't want to listen to the older people or you Mr. Brady. I just sick and tried of the hard headed people not listening to you. I know we may not go to state.

I agree with mr.brady now, i mean ppl now r blaming others and are not seeing their own flaws. everyone has them! no matter who they are, and i also agree that we should start working as a family, if we all had good days like we had on 9/13 we would get stuff done!

I too agree with mr. brady but as you all can see mr. brady is only one person out there he sometimes cant catch what other people are doing.. I see a bunch of people not watching and cuttin up and playin around.. This all has to stop if we all want to win state!!!!!!!!!
