Week One is Done...

Week 1 of band camp has come and gone. We are on our way to a successful season if we can keep working towards our goals and not let the little things get in our way. We must continue to work on our individual playing. I feel there are still many that are relying on those around them. It is getting better though. One must also remember why things are going do well too. It wasn't what the t-shirts looked like. It wasn't how many trips we went on. It wasn't how much punishment was given out. It was hard work, commitment, and dedication. If those things are in place, it will be difficult to get in our way as the season progresses. Our band program is built and will continue to grow on firm foundation of strong basics in both playing and marching but perhaps the most important feature is our commitment and dedication. Get those instruments out over the weekend and at least play through your parts a bit. You may be surprised at how much you really like to practice.
